Why I am running for Mayor

I was able to retire early, and wanted to give back to my Hollister community. I became an advocate, engaging with local leaders and speaking out on issues. I co-founded and am President of an all-volunteer nonprofit with a mission of strengthening our local economy. We work to educate, engage and empower residents around local issues, provide support for local businesses and share information on new business projects.

My goal in running for Mayor is to continue that work from inside City Hall. I want to focus on bringing revenue and new jobs and improving our quality of life. Restoring infrastructure is a top priority. Although we cannot stop housing growth due to the state’s housing crisis laws, it is important we carefully manage housing and support what’s important to our community, like affordable housing and smaller infill projects. I want to preserve our heritage and protect the future for our children and grandchildren.

My broad experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors will be put to good use leading Hollister. I am a consensus builder and will bring city, county and community together to tackle the challenges we face. I believe in being proactive when it comes to planning. I will work to improve communication at City Hall. Our residents have a right to transparency in government, and also to have their voices heard, and respected.
